[New Life+] Young Again in Some other Earth (Japanese: 二度目の人生を異世界で, Hepburn: Nidome no Jinsei o Isekai de ) is a Japanese low-cal novel series written past MINE and illustrated by Kabocha. The series is licensed in English language by J-Novel Guild. A manga adaptation by Satoru Abou was serialized from 2016 to 2021, and an anime television serial accommodation by 7 Arcs Pictures was scheduled to premiere in October 2018, before it was cancelled on June vi, 2018. Following the announcement of the anime adaptation, the series and its author began to face criticism for controversial material in the novels and in Twitter posts that MINE had made between 2012 and 2015.

MINE originally serialized the story every bit a web novel on the user-generated content site Shōsetsuka ni Narō starting on January three, 2014.[ii] [3] Following the controversy that broke out after the announcement of the anime adaptation, MINE announced plans on June v, 2018, to discontinue serialization of the web novel.[iv] Hobby Japan acquired the serial for impress publication, and published the first light novel, with illustrations by Kabocha, nether their HJ Novels imprint in November 2014.[3] [v] English publisher J-Novel Lodge announced their license to the serial on Jan 13, 2018.[iii] On June six, 2018, information technology was reported that Hobby Nihon had cancelled shipments of the low-cal novel serial.[half-dozen] On June fifteen, 2018, J-Novel Club appear that they would stop publishing the series on July 1, 2018.[7]

Manga [edit]
A manga adaptation by Satoru Abou is published on Kadokawa Shoten's ComicWalker website.[12] [13] The manga went on hiatus in belatedly May 2018 post-obit the controversy surrounding the writer.[14] It returned from hiatus on Baronial 22, 2018[14] and ended on Dec 3, 2021.

Anime [edit]
An anime television series adaptation was announced on May 22, 2018, and was scheduled to premiere in October 2018.[25] The series would take been directed by Keitaro Motonaga and written by Takamitsu Kouno, Touko Machida, Koujirou Nakamura, and Chabo Higurashi, with animation by Seven Arcs Pictures.[25] Makoto Takahoko would accept provided the series' character designs.[25] Still, on June 6, 2018, it was announced that the production and circulate of the anime had been cancelled due to the controversy surrounding the writer and his novels.[26]
Controversy [edit]
Following the annunciation of the anime adaptation, the series and its author became the discipline of a controversy. A number of commentators on Twitter claimed that the serial depicts the protagonist as having taken part in the 2nd Sino-Japanese War, where he killed iii,000 people with a katana, later going on to kill some other two,000 later on the war.[27] Additionally, commentators discovered several tweets past the author from 2013 to 2015 containing insulting statements about Prc, too equally tweets from 2012 to 2014 that allegedly contained like messages most South Korea.[27]
On June 5, 2018, author MINE apologized via Twitter. He too deleted all of his past Tweets and announced plans to exit Twitter once his amends spread.[4] In regards to the content of his novels, MINE stated that he would no longer serialize the web novel on Shōsetsuka ni Narō and would brainstorm discussions with his publisher about correcting inappropriate material in the print versions.[4]
On June six, 2018, voice actors Toshiki Masuda, Megumi Nakajima, and Kiyono Yasuno simultaneously announced their resignations from the anime adaptation. The actors were set to play the parts of Renya Kunugi, Rona Chevalier, and Shion Femme-Fatale, respectively.[28] On the aforementioned day, talent management agency 81 Produce announced that Nanami Yamashita, originally set up to play God in the series, was too resigning.[28]
Also on June vi, the website for the anime became unavailable worldwide except Japan, returning but a 403 Forbidden fault.[28] The production committee then posted an announcement on the website that production and broadcast of the anime had been cancelled due to the controversy. The committee besides apologized.[26]
Hobby Nihon, the publisher of the original lite novel series, posted an apology on June 6.[half-dozen] Later that day, the Asahi Shimbun reported that the publisher had decided to cancel shipments of the light novel.[6]
On June 15, 2018, J-Novel Club announced that they would suspend publication of the series on July ane, 2018, and would no longer offering it for sale "pending farther consultation with the Japanese rights holder".[vii]
